Did you know that regular check-ups and cleaning are completely safe at any time during your pregnancy? Your oral health greatly impacts your overall health, which means the health of your growing baby is also impacted by it.  We want to eliminate bacteria in your mouth that could affect your developing baby if left unchecked. Regular check-ups, a nutritious, well-balanced diet, and good oral hygiene habits, will maintain optimal oral health throughout your pregnancy.

If you have developed pregnancy related oral health problems, such as pregnancy gingivitis or periodontal disease, or need an x-ray completed or cavity filled, no need to worry.  Precautions can be taken to ensure these treatments are administered safely while you’re pregnant. There are medications which should not be taken while pregnant. If you’re being prescribed any medication, make sure to inform our office if you’re pregnant so that safety can be assured.
